Active Shorts with Hip Protector Shields

This is me with my hip protectors. They are barely noticeable and soo very comfortable. I love them! I feel so much safer now. I have osteoporosis and bilateral hip replacements and I have always been worried about falling. Thank you for all your help!

Yesterday I tried out my new Phoenix Hipwear on a hike. My hiking pants fit easily over the boxers/shields. I was barely aware that I was wearing them. Very comfortable. As you can see from the pix I’ve attached, the shields really aren’t visible. I so appreciate this extra level of protection as I want to continue to remain physically active as I age. I’m very satisfied with my purchase.
I feel so good about having that extra security. I’ve put on a pair of hiking pants, and love that you really don’t notice the shields underneath - they are very discreet.

I am currently wearing the full fit boxer shorts with the hip protectors. I started playing pickleball in December 2024 and falling has always been on my mind. I have osteoporosis and was afraid to even try pickleball for a couple of years, My sister sent me a link to your webpage a couple of months ago and I bought your product. I like the boxers better than the active fit shorts. They are more comfortable and the fitted side pocket, keeps the hip protectors in place. I play pickle ball three times a week and do so with much more confidence now that I am wearing your hip protectors. The customer service has been outstanding.

I’ve attached a few photos of me wearing the Phoenix Hipwear under hiking shorts while hiking and kayaking in Kauai this week.
I was surprised at how comfortable the hip guards are - I wasn’t even aware of them when kayaking. We kayaked for a couple of miles down a river and then hiked a mile or so inland on some pretty uneven terrain to see a waterfall, and then the same in reverse!
We also did part of a trail on the Na Pali coast that was also uneven and slippery in places, so I was glad to have the hip protection and walking poles.
It felt reassuring to know that the hip guards were there in the event I fell. I’ll certainly be using them on trail hikes at home in Santa Barbara, California, as they can be worn under hiking pants for sure.

Love the sports shorts. They are comfortable and fit well. The fabric is a great quality and breath well. I wear them for hiking, exercising, and doing outside activities. I wear them alone, under leggings, hiking pants even over leggings.

“I had a hard fall 2 weeks ago on a trail I have done thousands of times. A moment of inattention caused me to trip and fall on my right hip, elbow and FACE. Yup. My sunglasses jammed into my face and I have a huge "shiner" with hematomas below my brow and on my cheekbone. Also a small fracture in my nose from the bridge of the glasses! Blood everywhere from my nose and the gash above my eye. BUT....didn't feel a thing on my hip and was able to walk the 1.5 hours back to my car and drive myself to the emergency clinic. I absolutely will not hike without the protectors.
I am very grateful it was not worse. I got a good work up at the clinic and stitches on my elbow and brow bone.
Those protectors did the job 100%.”

Excellent quality and service. I am 66 years old with osteoporosis. I ordered the active shorts and afterwards had some questions about them. Debbie was so helpful and I ended up ordering the full fit underwear to see which ones I would like the best. I ended up loving them both! The active shorts I like for the gym, hiking and biking. They do have a little lower waist and maybe a tad shorter than I would prefer, but I have already worn them to the gym and out and about and love them anyway. The full fit underwear are a more comfortable fit to put under my own clothing. Higher waist and comfy fabric. I can't believe how comfortable they are to wear and how thin the protection is. I actually forget I'm wearing something different. I hope I never have to test the fall protection, but I feel more comfortable knowing I have something to help soften the blow while I work on getting my bones stronger.

Haven’t worn them yet but they are comfortable… just wish they were a bit more high waisted.

I also have a problem with the shorts fitting like hip huggers so I’m guessing I’m long waisted. The xs fits me fine otherwise but I’m wondering if I should order a small instead? Will this solve the issue? When wearing them I have to pull them way up and it’s not comfortable

I'm long waisted, so the shorts were too low on the waist and the leg rode up at the crotch when biking.

The experience of shopping with you was excellent. Since I felt they didn’t work for me, you were very accommodating in accepting my return. I regret they didn’t work for me because I believe they are a great product

I think it is a great idea. However I can’t see wearing them under workout tights without being noticed. Also I had hoped the shorts were of a lighter fabric.

I currently have both the shorts as well as the liners, and I interchange the protection shields. I’m currently doing a ton of hiking in New Zealand and I have worn these pants up to 4000 feet numerous times including going up 2200 stairs. 😲

They are very comfortable and I’m actually do not even notice that I am wearing it, but it gives me an extra layer of confidence and security given that I also have osteoporosis.

I plan to take these shields with me anytime I am hiking, but truthfully, I could wear them every day as well.

I’m hoping that they will come out with more options, including other colors like blue

I’ve been wearing my shorts/shields for horse riding. Very comfy under my riding pants and they do not affect my mobility for mounting, riding and dismounting.

I purchased 2 pairs of hip protectors for my 94 year old Mom. Natasha was beyond amazing, we had to exchange a pair that was too large and with the current trade environment it was not easy, duty was charged twice, UPS seemed to lose the package and after many emails to Natasha and calls to UPS from both of us, they finally showed up. Natasha was on the phone to UPS and emailing me to keep up to date, it was a long story with more steps than I can mention. This business has service to match their product...EXCELLENT.
